Dubai has played an increasingly important role in the global business travel industry and MICE. Every year, several million people come here with business purposes. The developed exhibition and hotel infrastructure, modern business centers and a stable banking system support the impeccable business reputation of Dubai.

A key role in the development of the exhibition and MICE industry of the Middle East is played by the Dubai World Trade Center. Every year, many exhibitions are held in the fields of education, aviation, healthcare, IT, construction, food industry, logistics .

MICE industry of Dubai continued to develop dynamically in 2017. Over the past year, Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) – the largest venue and event organizer in the city – has brought the economy of the emirate 12.7 billion dirhams ($ 3.45 billion), which is 3.3% of its GDP.

The total revenue from the activities amounted to 22.5 billion dirhams, which is 8% higher than in 2015.

Moreover, every 1000 dirhams spent on DWTC activities brought in 4,300 dirhams of profit. In 2017, the holding of events on the DWTC sites allowed the creation of more than 84,000 jobs in Dubai.

DWTC’s priorities fully correspond to the tasks set in the framework of UAE Vision 2021 – the national strategy of economic diversification; and the success of DWTC as a MICE institution strengthens the Dubai business travel segment and makes an invaluable contribution to its GDP.

Notable growth of not only gross income but also economic value testifies to the ability of this industry to minimize losses and provide a contribution to the economy for its continued development.

Year 2017 became the most successful in history for the Dubai business events industry. The emirate received the right to hold 212 major international conferences and exhibitions, attracting an additional 95,000 delegates to the city and bringing 715 million dirhams to the local economy.

It should be noted, that 42% out of 2.6 million delegates attending business events in Dubai in 2017, came from abroad. According to DWTC, guests from abroad spent on each event nine times more money than local visitors. Basically it was spending on accommodation, shopping, entertainment and restaurants.

By attracting an increasing number of business guests to these events, Emirates support the strategy of increasing tourist flow of Dubai to 20 million by 2020.

Moreover, the benefits of spending on MICE activities in related sectors connected to business tourism have a significant multiplier effect, which allows the industry to stimulate the development of the economy of Dubai.

The hotel market in Dubai is also experiencing strong growth. The most comfortable conditions are created for business travelers: the business infrastructure of the best Dubai hotels is designed to hold meetings and events of very different level and scale. Almost all hotels have business centers and special business floors, which make it possible to combine business with recreation at sea and sports entertainment.

The sights of Dubai allow you to form a variety of cultural and sightseeing programs that will help supplement a private business trip or become the basis of a group incentive tour.
