The development of the vacuum train project Virgin Hyperloop One continues in Dubai. This system should connect Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and it is planned to use it in the future with other cities in the country. Due to the reduced pressure in the special pipe, in which the train will move – and hence, the weak resistance of the air – the train will be able to reach speeds of up to 1200 km / h. A trip to Dubai from Abu Dhabi, therefore, will take only 12 minutes. The amount of passenger traffic is expected to be 10,000 people per hour in both directions.
The project managers announce that the system will start functioning in 2021 and will be able to provide not only transportation of passengers, but also cargo transportation. At the same time, as expected, the launch of the project will have a significant impact on the value of real estate in Dubai and the capital of the UAE.
Infrastructure development always positively affects the growth of prices and rental costs in the real estate market. A similar effect is expected from the launch of Virgin Hyperloop One in the UAE.
The successful construction of a vacuum train system between Dubai and Abu Dhabi means also that more people will be able to find work in the neighboring emirate. This applies to both residents of the capital, and residents of Dubai. Secondly, easy and quick access to neighbors will raise the interest of investors in both cities, as well as attract the attention of foreign investors. As a result, the cost of real estate in Dubai and Abu Dhabi is likely to start growing – especially, near the stations of Virgin Hyperloop One.
Now the developers of the project continue to test the capsules. In February, the company, together with the Dubai Office of Roads and Transport, presented the world a prototype capsule designed specifically for Dubai. It was exhibited in City Walk 2 during the Week of Innovation.
